Description of Organisation
PtJ, the Projekttraeger Juelich, is a project management organisation acting on behalf the Federal Ministry of Science and Education (BMBF), the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) and the Federal Ministry of Environment (BMU).
PtJ is an independent unit in the Research Centre Juelich with a staff of approx. 300. In general, the project management and funding covers a variety of research disciplines including biology, energy, material and chemical technology, environmental and geosciences as well as marine and polar research.
The PtJ office in Rostock Warnemuende opened in 1991 and is responsible for the management of projects in the area of marine, polar- and geosciences, shipping and marine technology with 20 employees.
PtJ is mandated by the Federal Ministry for Education and Science (BMBF) to participate in the MarinERA project.

“Programme MARCOPOLI - Marine, Coastal and Polar system” research funding by the Helmholtz Gemeinschaft
